Have you ever had the feeling that someone has changed drastically over time? Maybe your friend isn't the same as when you two were little? We know this has happened to everyone a bit like it also happened to the main character Christopher from The Curious Incident of the Dog in the Night-Time. Since the beginning of the book Christopher has changed drastically proving himself to be a dynamic character and this change is evident. Christopher is changing dramatically, demonstrating that his experiences not only shape his character and allow for change, but in fact his challenges, fears, and curiosities can give him the courage and intrepidity to continue to change throughout the book. I believe Christopher faced challenges throughout the book. novel. Whether it was challenges like being able to acquire new information or traveling across the country to find his mother. “And then I heard my father go up the stairs and enter the room. He said 'Christopher, what the hell are you doing?' And I could tell he was in the room, but his voice sounded weak and distant, like people's voices sometimes do when I moan and don't want them to be near me” (Haddon 113) This quote tells us that in the beginning, when Christopher received new information, as when he read his mother's letters, he fell into a state of total shock... His reaction may not have been the best when he found out who killed Wellington, but it was a big improvement over getting wet. the bed and completely distances himself from the real world. To summarize, now as we can see, Christopher has changed drastically throughout the book due to his challenges, fears, and curiosities. Christopher's evolution as the novel progresses is undeniable and it is very shocking to think that a boy with this type of disorder could change so drastically in a short period. What we can conclude is that no doubt Christopher had difficult times throughout the book, but this is exactly what makes Christopher evolve into a better person. Because of his experiences, Christopher has gone through this drastic change and will always be the new Christopher.
