When Kristin adds the explanation of the kingdoms, it shows how challenging the next adventure will be: “It was a land of seven kingdoms. Seven Kingdoms and seven completely unpredictable kings” (45-46). The author uses this information to make Kasta different in each area and kingdom, both to better disguise themselves and to avoid people. Just as Po warns Kasta before leaving on his journey with Princess Bitterblue: “'Trust no Monsean, do you understand? You must not trust anyone who may have been touched by Leck's grace'” (661-662). If the perpetrator had not put the group in contact with the area where King Leck had spread his lies, the group would not know what Leck is doing to the innocents or what could happen to anyone else. While these three elements are very important, there are many other literary elements that add to those of the story
