CONSTRUCTION OF BORED PILES Construction of bored piles is carried out using the appropriate rotary cutters depending on the diameter, depth, ground conditions and construction method. Holes are usually stabilized with a temporary or permanent coating. The common material used for casing is steel and it is also normally called steel casing. The length of the steel casing is also determined by the ground conditions encountered on site. SETUP The position of the bored piles must be defined and marked by the subcontractor's surveyor according to the approved layout drawings provided by the Consultant. The survey details for each location should include reduced levels and coordinates. The location surveyed and marked as the pile location shall not be disturbed before the start of drilling work.DRILLINGAll associated technical information such as presence of utilities, pile coordinates, platform and cut-off levels, validity of drawings etc. be verified by the customer representative to begin operations. If necessary, after the surveyor has established the position of the pile, a temporary liner will be placed based on the ground conditions. The vertical accuracy of the enclosure will be checked during the installation process. The rotary Kelly bar and auger or bucket method are used to excavate soil within casing or drilled holes. Once the drilling process has begun, the auger or drilling bucket is then used to drill into the ground to the required depth or until it hits hard rock capable of bearing loads. The point of when a hard rock is encountered while it is boring as defined in the specification, for example, once the auger or drilling... in the center of the paper... is cemented using the “ tremble." The type of concrete used will be a self-compacting mixed concrete and will be discharged via a tremie pipe, which will then be lowered uniformly aligned to the center down to the bottom of the borehole followed by concrete filling. The concrete level in the pit was recorded after each truck was unloaded and the graph plotting will be contrary to the theoretical one. The concrete must be continuously embedded in a length to ensure that the concrete drain is level with impurities, which can be seen at the top of the rising head of the concrete. Testing of all piling work shall be carried out in accordance with the instructions of the engineer or engineers' representative. Completed piles will need to be temporarily fortified and backfilled to ground level with suitable material the following day.
