Since the beginning of the science revolution, the Western world has valued scientific improvement above any other, placing theories and scientific leaders on the higher base than their peers in lower sectors of society, such as business leaders or government leaders, which begs the question: why are sciences and theories held in such high respect? With what results and consequences do the two different areas of knowledge, these two different sciences use methods such as observation, empirical evidence and the scientific method, in the development of theories? These two areas of knowledge have fundamental differences at their conclusion, which leads to their differences in how they succeed in persuading others. How do the aspects differ? Are the truths established in the sciences indisputably true? But above all, what makes the theories of the human sciences and natural sciences convincing? To begin this research, in the title there are definitions of some key terms that I will explain. The principle that introduces something to be a theory in the sciences is that it must be an idea/statement that is descriptive, predictable and explanatory in nature. This is based on ideas supported by evidence, which correspond logically with current knowledge. Even the most common theories in science must be capable of being falsified by nature. In this way, theories by definition can never be proven to be completely right and therefore remain uncontaminated by opposing arguments. It is the nature of theories that this essay is primarily concerned with. The word “Convincing” is an area of consideration where the definition of the word may be involved. A theory that can overcome the opposition… middle of the paper… that is, our tendency to think we know more about these theories than we actually do, when in reality we are essentially placing our trust in scientific figures to tell us what is convincing or not convincing at all.
