It is well known that, due to the rapid expansion of the English language throughout the world, developing countries, including Chile, have promoted the use of modern English as a language foreigners in their countries in class. Learning and using this new language through subjects such as history, geography or other, is what the CLIL (Content and Language Integrated Learning) approach aims to do, thus opening the doors to languages for a wider range of learners, nurturing confidence in themselves in young learners and in those who have not responded well to formal language teaching in general education, providing exposure to the language without requiring additional time in the curriculum, improving the learning of languages and other subjects, and developing in young people an positive 'can do' attitude towards oneself as a language learner. However, it is my opinion that CLIL offers exposure to the language, motivates students to learn and use it and assesses the content of the subject, not their mastery of "grammar", but the teaching materials (textbooks/textbooks) would reflect this approach in order to carry out a consequential lesson. First, during the last decades of teaching English as a foreign language in Chile, the CLIL approach has become of serious interest. Some schools have adopted this approach as a way to teach and learn EFL more naturally. This approach offers both teachers and students the opportunity to discuss specific content in the foreign language studied or to practice the foreign language in a content-rich environment. In conclusion, understanding history and culture in English and being able to communicate critically in both your native and second language should be an asset for any student and a step forward in a future career. The ideas presented in this paper should guide CLIL teachers in preparing their lessons and possibly show them how to adapt new sources of authentic materials and mother tongue websites. Furthermore, working towards motivation must be conceived as a process with others through which all actors involved contribute and benefit from. Finally, the last objective of the CLIL approach aims to develop multilingual interests and attitudes that will help students in their working and professional future..
