The ways this class has credited me as a public speaker. My strengths as a speaker before this lesson were my posture and nonverbal gestures. Lesson after lesson I felt more comfortable speaking and wasn't as nervous and/or had less anxiety. When I felt less anxiety I felt like I could think more clearly and my thoughts seemed well organized, it was a really good feeling. Watching some of my videos again helped me prepare for the next one by pointing out my shortcomings such as things I need to work on, better pronunciation, more relaxed speaking pace, and so on. Between classes I would look for articles published by great public speakers and read them for inspiration. I came across this article which helped me immensely. The article was full of great advice, but there was one that stood out to me. One is “The most important key is to simply admit that you are nervous” after thinking about it and then admitting that I was nervous before a speech, admitting that I would make a mistake and not focusing on that one flaw but focusing on maintaining composure. Even the greatest speakers are not perfect, and that is why they are great speakers. Because they can make a mess and no one will notice because they manage to stay so composed and
