Topic > The textuality of my writing - 2126

The “text” is an interesting lens through which to look at writing. There are literally new spaces for writing created by new technologies and innovations yet to be made in existing spaces. For this reason, I have chosen to look at my writing through the lens of the text. Specifically, I will note which text space, sometimes simply referred to as space, the writing was completed on. Text space is used in this document to refer to where the writing occurred, whether it is in an email program, a forum application, or on a piece of paper. I will also look at writing as text. In this article the term refers to writing as an object, to physical appearance. If the writing is typed, the text will look noticeably different if written by hand, for example. Text is related to text space in many cases, but these distinctions have been helpful to me in evaluating my own writing. Taking a look at the first writing, in chronological order; On February 3, at 6:18 pm, I wrote an introductory email to a classmate in my American literature class who had agreed to be my study partner. I wanted to establish a connection between me and my email presence and make sure it had my email address. The email appears here:The significance of the typical appearance of this email might be overlooked, so let me take a look at the above writing from a specific perspective. When considering the relationship between the act of writing and the text-space there is both the mandate, in this article refers to the limits that the text-space has inherent in itself, of the space and of the offering, it refers to that that can be done in a text-space, especially all the possibilities that are more unique than that text-space, than space. While all writing completed in a space will be… in the center of the paper… if the writing is to be read by others, I tend to shape the text more deliberately, in standardized ways. While the text space and text are secondary in these ways, I have also seen them have a notable impact on my writing, which brings out the second pattern of text space shaping the text, in terms of mandates and affordances . This is a reality that plays into the choice of text-space. By looking at the writings here, I have demonstrated that I am aware of the mandates of text spaces and actually choose text spaces that do not stifle my writing. Regarding the provision of text spaces, it is obvious to me that there is potential for improvement. Despite being aware of the offerings, I have found that I am not taking advantage of them effectively, sometimes due to overuse and sometimes due to underuse, particularly in electronic spaces.
