The main purpose of the broadcast is to entertain people and also serves as a means to pay for the company's service as long segmented reports can become very expensive. Different types of news outlets that provide infotainment are comedy news programs such as The Daily Show (which uses newsworthy stories to ridicule and perform skits to make a point) or The Colbert Report (conservative political opinions), and YouTube. Politicians use infotainment for larger audiences and draw attention to important issues so that people watch. Infotainment allows you to hear opinions that provide multiple sides to a story. Furthermore, many of these infotainment channels attract young people towards a change in attitude. Infotainment includes alternative methods that help citizens get involved in political issues and a way for politicians to connect with citizens. An example is the Internet itself, with various social media networks providing political information and views. Such social networks as; Yahoo! Facebook and Twitter provide an instant news feed where you can also comment or view other people's comments and relate to theirs
