I thought what I learned in this course was much more than what I learned this semester. Being my second to last semester, I'm happy I ended up taking this class. I found a new appreciation for Renaissance, entered the class not knowing if I would like it, and ended up really appreciating what I got out of it. Works like Volpone, Faustus, The Alchemist, Faerie Queene and that doesn't do the poetry justice. Poems like The Flea and Shakespeare's poems were the ones that would stick with me in a special way. I rarely like the works we read in class, they are normally forgotten within a few weeks; but, as in a class I took from Henson, we read all the good works and I will continue to read them every year. Reading half of Milton's Paradise Lost also proved vital, simply because I learned more about the book than before. Only when I finished Paradise Lost did I really understand what the book was about and what it conveyed. And, even though we didn't finish, there were still some great last lessons on Heaven
