The successful application of these theories has been very interdisciplinary in their use, being applicable to the development of disorders and even to the calculation of spending patterns across social groups . Behaviorism and social learning have evolved beyond their original use for purely educational purposes. However, the effectiveness of behaviorist theory has been questioned as an educational approach. L'Ecuyer (2014) explains that the behaviorist approach, “emphasizes the accumulation of information (knowledge), on external behaviors (mechanical skills and habits) and on their emotional and physical reactions in certain situations, rather than on internal mental states of the person, such as intentionality, which are much more complex (p.2). The article questions the modern effectiveness of the behaviorist approach on children. I have found that social learning theory, when combined with behaviorism theory, is still very useful in education, even with the influx of modern technologies. Basically, behaviorism, both classic and classical, seeks to explain why humans react to certain stimuli. The operant is more used socially, especially in raising children, how to effectively discipline the child through reinforcement of positive behavior or corporal punishment for negative behavior is still a much debated topic.
