In this article I will mainly focus on the importance of feedback in learning. Practice is important to achieve goals but it cannot act alone, for a student to achieve their goals they need to practice; while practicing it is important to receive feedback. By the end of this article, I will try to demonstrate why "feedback is so important in learning"? According to the University of Reading (2012), “feedback can improve a student's confidence, self-awareness and enthusiasm for learning.” Feedback is important because it helps students understand their progress as they achieve goals. The goal can be anything, such as passing with good grades, learning and understanding the subject, etc. Feedback helps identify your strengths and weaknesses. For example, imagine learning to play basketball, having a coach guide you and provide constant feedback on your progress versus you teaching yourself; big difference in terms of monitoring and feedback, isn't it? Feedback also cannot be generic saying right or wrong; it will be less useful but won't make a big difference...
