Topic > South Korea's Past - 1317

South Korea is famous as the fastest developing nation in the world; actually South Korea was a really poor country in the past era. Many Koreans struggled with starvation due to the Korean War. As a Korean, I would like to present the history of my motherland. To write my country, I found many sources from my high school textbook. Yunhun Kim is a professor at Seoul University; wrote the Korean history textbook, South Korea from Past to Present, for high school. This book explains well the reality of South Korea in the past era; I will use this book to explain South Korea in the 1960s. Furthermore, Sunghwan Ban writes a book, Growth Rates of Korean Agriculture, 1918-1971, in which he states how Korea develops well thanks to agriculture. I used this book as my textbook. Furthermore, knowledge management and management learning; by Walter Beats can be found on the Google website. This book explains the meaning of infrastructure and social structure. It will be in my essay. South Korea: A Country Study by Matels Savada and Williams Shaw provides an explanation of South Korea as a foreigners' perspective. Finally, Okyu Kwon is also a graduate student at KAIST in South Korea; created a power point entitled “Korea's Infrastructure Development Experiences”. I googled and found these sources. I will use these sources to support and explain South Korea in the 1960s. How South Korea formulated its foundation in the 1960s to become a powerful nation. How South Korea's infrastructure, social structure, and ideology formed in the 1960s. First, when you think of Asia, many immediately think of Japan, China, and Korea. Have you ever noticed that South Korea was one of the poorest countries in the past unlike others? Once upon a time, South Korea was ... middle of paper ... their hair is bad for the body that parents give; therefore, this is one of the undue actions. Koreans followed these ideas well in the past. Therefore, they maintained agriculture instead of industrialization. Through agriculture they also maintained the family form of a large family. Furthermore, they maintained the patriarchal system. According to the system, only men could touch political issues. And women spend their time with quality life. They couldn't take the exam and have no rest to learn the study. Even if a woman is wiser than her younger brother, only the brother can take the exam. This is a talented person wasted; however, this is the rule in South Korea. In a way, this idea slows down Korea's development. South Korea is one of the fastest developing countries in the world; and they will develop more than now looking at the history of South Korea.
