Topic > Blue Winds Dancing and the Internet by Thomas Whitecloud

In “Blue Winds Dancing” by Thomas A. Whitecloud he talks about how he feels disconnected from society due to different aspects of society that he doesn't agree with and he is used to A. He faces the two opposing societies because he is biracial and therefore part of both societies. There are many activities in which people who are part of what he calls the civilized world participate. Whitecloud hitches a ride on a train in a cattle car with the tramps because he thinks the tramps are the closest to his people. Tramps are free from society, care only about the essentials, and do not participate in most of society's man-made goods. Currently, there are numerous issues related to many man-made activities. One of the most controversial man-made objects talked about is the Internet. The range of content available is constantly increasing, and some members of society agree that some content is dangerous, as it is provided explicitly. Furthermore, this content is not in accordance with the morals of some societies. There are numerous research studies that show how the Internet negatively affects humans in society emotionally and socially, educationally, medically, and morally. One of the main aspects of the Internet is how it influences human emotions. There is one aspect of this that has given rise to a new topic of academic research. Internet addiction is quickly becoming a compulsive disorder as well as a sign of inability to control impulsive emotions and limit Internet use. There are many signs to tell if someone is addicted to the Internet or emotionally dependent on the Internet. Some people are compulsive shoppers and have to buy something online every time they have... means of paper ......sivity, impulsivity, and experiential avoidance in the use of Internet pornography."
