My teaching philosophy has been greatly influenced by my field experience in the primary classrooms. Some of these beliefs may need to be modified to fit the needs of the class in certain situations, especially if I were teaching one of the middle classes. There are five general philosophies that I believe are essential to creating an effective learning environment as an educator: setting clear expectations for students and creating a respectful environment, acting as a facilitator in the classroom, building relationships with students and their guardians, and using positive attitude reinforcement. While there are many responsibilities that educators have in the classroom, I believe these five are the most important to being successful in teaching an elementary classroom. To begin with, I believe that students learn best when the expectations the teacher has for them in the classroom are clearly explained. Especially in the primary grades, I believe that the social and academic curriculum in the classroom are equally important. Many students enter school without knowing how to interact with others and are not accustomed to rules and procedures. Therefore, considerable time should be spent on explicit instruction regarding classroom rules and procedures, as well as the academic curriculum required by the state and school district. Some goals I have for my social curriculum include how to interact with others effectively, wait your turn to speak and stay silent when someone else speaks, and how to make friends by treating others the way you would like to be treated. While academics in the primary grades will prepare students for the intermediate grades, this… middle of paper… is one of the most important factors in creating an effective learning environment in the classroom. Overall, there are a myriad of teaching philosophies that educators have. Personally, I believe that setting clear expectations for students and creating a respectful environment, acting as a facilitator in the classroom, building relationships with students and their guardians, and using positive reinforcement are the most essential to creating a positive, effective atmosphere and environment. safe learning for students. Without using these philosophies when interacting with students in class, I don't know how I would begin to attempt to teach them. In my future classroom, I plan to use different strategies to implement these philosophies every day in my classroom and to continue to learn about new ideas on how to promote learning in a supportive and encouraging way.
