Topic > Who killed Kennedy: will the truth ever be known?

John Fitzgerald Kennedy was the 35th president of the United States and the public loved him. That's why his assassination was a horrible event. Many people wanted justice to be brought to whoever was responsible for Kennedy's death, and the United States government tried to give people closure by condemning Lee Harvey Oswald as the sole perpetrator of the assassination. Despite Lee Harvey Oswald's conviction, there is probable reason to believe that he was not responsible for the assassination of President John F. Kennedy. The mishandling of many of the details surrounding the assassination fueled the belief system that it was a grand conspiracy. According to the Warren Commission report, “Texas School Book Depository employee Lee Harvey Oswald fired the shots that killed John F. Kennedy from the building's southeastern-most window on the sixth floor” (Reitzes). Early public opinion supported the Warren Commission's conclusion, but as information began to emerge about the details of how the investigation was flawed, people began to have doubts, Jacob Cohen, a university professor, said that over the years until. 80 percent of respondents said they have doubts about the Warren (Cohen) Commission's conclusions. Over the years there have been many people who have researched information about the Kennedy assassination, and the inconsistencies in the final reports have led them to believe that there was more to the matter than that. as the report shows. One theory that some hold is that there were shots fired at President Kennedy from Grassy Knoll. This has led to the belief that there was another gunman or that Oswald was not the assassin at all. Some witnesses thought they heard three shots from behind the limousi...... middle of paper......piracy debunked over the years, there is no denying that there are many flaws in the initial investigation. Until the flaws can be explained or fixed, there will always be the possibility that what has been said to be true is not.
