A. Vision, mission and goals of the organization and the population it serves The vision of the food bank is “to share food and bring hope”. The goal of the food bank is to provide food to as many people in need as they can. Beyond that, they would also like to end the hunger problem as a whole. The Central Food Bank can produce twelve meals for one dollar. They also don't charge the agencies for the food they distribute. Last year they were able to distribute more than twenty-eight million pounds of food in the central Missouri area. The food bank relies on various partnerships and volunteers to be able to produce and distribute as much food as they do. This is their mission: to bring people together in the community to feed those in need. The food bank specifically serves residents of Missouri's central and northeastern counties who qualify for food assistance based on low income and other factors.
