The only downside to sharing gender roles that I can think of would most likely be confusion between stereotypical gender roles, which could also turn out to be a valid opposing view. It may confuse gender roles and cause your children to associate more with the opposite stereotypical gender role; for example, your son associates more with stereotypical female gender roles and your daughter associates more with stereotypical male gender roles. However, this could only happen if there was no balance in gender sharing
