Too much power can lead to domination of others, which is why organization and structure are the key to success, and this is where the Madisonian model comes in. However, not all ideas destined to succeed do so. Although Madison's model was designed to prevent the imposition of tyranny, this did not seem to work very well. Madison's model failed due to the abuse of power, which led to the domination of one group over another. (your thesis should be a little more specific. How power was abused and in which group. However you are on the right track) The Madisonian model, first proposed by James Madison, is a government structure created to prevent a minority or majority group from acquiring sufficient power to dominate others. The Constitution made it possible. One of the principles was to separate the powers of government into three branches: executive, legislative and judicial. The separation of powers allowed each of the three branches to be independent, except working together to govern. Congress passes laws, the president enforces and administers them, and courts clarify laws under distinct conditions. Madison clarified his beliefs in Federalist Paper No. 51 by stating that for government to exist there must be a balance of power. By giving each administrative branch the constitutional means, intrusions by others will be avoided. Constitutional instruments are a system of checks and balances, in which each branch of government has the right to control the conduct of the others. Neither branch…half of the paper…Adison's model failed. There is constantly one group dominating the other by abusing their powers. Madison had the right intentions with his model, but unfortunately it seemed to be less effective in some situations, such as when Congress and the president found ways to get what they wanted without the approval and confirmation of others. While there are still rules and processes that groups and individuals must follow to get things done, there usually seems to be a way around them. Whether it is Congress and the President, or outside groups, money and campaigns, they have found a way to overwhelm their opponent. The fact that the 501c4 group managed to remain completely anonymous is impressive, but it had a significant impact on the electoral elections, which was very fair to the candidates who were attacked and did not receive donations and money.
