Topic > My Future Career as a Large Animal Veterinarian

One of the most important elements missing is my education. I need a DVM so I need to attend veterinary school after I finish my biological sciences degree. In the near future, I hope to include the University of Illinois Veterinary School DVM graduate along with my biological sciences degree in the education section of my resume. The job ad also called for working with large animals and I don't have much experience on my resume. I would like to volunteer at a farm, thus broadening my experience with large animals and making my resume stand out. Writing this resume has certainly charted the path to my future career as a large animal veterinarian. I found many relevant skills on my resume, but also many others that were missing. Reflecting on what was needed to fill that gap to successfully apply for that position made me realize that becoming a veterinarian requires a lot of school and commitment. In the future, I see myself achieving this difficult goal, with the right motivation. I know I can finish 8-10 years of school and also fill the gap in my resume so I can stand out and earn my big animal status
