Francis Bacon was a British artist much appreciated by the public and proclaimed the greatest artist of the 20th century. Although some have criticized him for his vague and harsh images, many more people have praised his work for its meaning, passion and his ability to materialize good and evil on certain issues using semi-abstract figures and triptychs as his preference . Comparing and contrasting an early piece of his artwork such as “Three Studies for Figures at the Base of a Crucifixion,” which was compelling and showed an originality that earned him wide credit, with a late piece called “Study for the Head of George Dyer”, you can see the evolution of Mr. Bacon as an artist and, above all, as a person emotionally. Before starting his artistic career, Francis Bacon constantly moved around Europe but eventually settled in London. working in home design.Mr. Bacon had never been taught art by a professional artist or in art school, but he dabbled in creating artistic drawings during his free time using various watercolors Bacon decided to participate in an art showcase featuring works of art by Pablo Picassco, this exhibition would motivate him to begin pursuing a career as an artist. Although his drawings and paintings did not gain much approval at first of the public, he continued to work on his art until his first quality work in 1944 entitled “Three Studies for Figures at the Base of a Crucifixion”. In this work, the inspiration he received from Pablo Picasso's abstract figures truly materialized on the canvas. Through this piece Mr. Bacon gained wide notoriety.
