ResultsThroughout the duration of the research paper, the researcher was able to receive first-hand testimonials from a breast cancer survivor via email. The interview included questions such as: (1) the year and stage at which breast cancer was diagnosed; (2) the level of awareness before diagnosis; (3) treatments used to fight cancer (chemotherapy, radiation, or a combination of both); (4) current breast cancer status; and (5) treatment, prevention, or tests used to keep breast cancer in remission. The respondent (who remains unnamed) was diagnosed with the disease on July 5, 2002, at Jefferson Hospital after an annual mammogram. Her breast cancer was diagnosed at stage I, less than 1 mm in diameter (Office of Women's Health n.d.). She said she was very aware of the inherited risk in her family due to a family history of being diagnosed with breast cancer.
