There has been debate in Asia about whether Taiwan has the right to be independent, that is, to gain political independence from China, but resolving this complicated dispute is not easy. If expressed incorrectly, the economy of both countries could be damaged and the worst case would be a war between the two countries. Taiwan has the right to be autonomous, but the fact may be that it should not be autonomous. Speaking from different points of view, it would be better if Taiwan could maintain its current relations with China, if not even closer relations. Taiwan was founded by China and has had a long history of governance, but the land was given to Japan during World War II. in exchange for a truce and has since had no owner.
