“Nobody got out of there alive – Witness in Sujiatun concentration camp.” A photographer working for The Epoch Times in 2006 placed this caption under a photo he had taken to support his article. The article reported how executed prisoners had become the primary source of organ transplants. Even today in China, organs are harvested from the bodies of Falun prisoners without anyone's consent, to be used as donors for needy patients. The moment they find someone in need, prisoners immediately become victims. The process works like this: In China, the hospital notifies you in advance that it has found a donor. On average you will receive one to two weeks' notice. The hospital finds a living donor, arranges your surgery, and once the surgery is scheduled, arranges for the prisoner to be executed at the time the surgery is scheduled. No one knows who or where the organs come from, and it's usually not in their minds if they desperately need the organ. The discussion on the curiosity of the situation, however, emerged in March 2006, when the religious organization Falun Gong reported some accusations (The Weekly Standard...). They clearly stated what was happening: that the Republic of China was harvesting the organs of executed criminals. They also noted the correlation between the rate at which one could obtain an organ for transplant and the high rate of executions in prisons. Although attention on organ harvesting in China became prominent in 2006 following the Falun Gong allegations, the practice of using prisoners for organ harvesting actually began in the 1980s. By the 1990s, organ harvesting had progressed with the use of medical drugs...... half of article......
