Queen Elizabeth I inherited the kingdom of England in 1558 after the death of her half-sister, Mary Tudor. Elizabeth began to rule England when Mary's body had not yet cooled. He was only 25 years old, but he knew he was responsible for his people. It was said that he wanted to return England to Protestantism, but he kept everyone in doubt as to what he wanted to do because he could use Parliament to achieve this without starting a religious civil war. Elizabeth kept all her intentions well hidden. She refused to decide whether she would get married. The Council quietly began to disarm the bishops, and some Protestant preachers were arrested. He did this to encourage the Protestants. Although Queen Elizabeth I occasionally tried to hide her intentions, she was a selfless leader because she understood what was happening in her kingdom. She was also a queen who worked very hard, led her people well, and did not allow anyone to influence her decisions. Elizabeth's life had been full of incident and drama before she became queen. She is said to have gained votes due to her ability to wield power successfully, especially because she is a woman. She was respected for her courage and leadership qualities. She was also well aware that people would see her as a weak woman in a man's world. However, she never allowed anyone to challenge her authority as queen. Elizabeth faced many challenges, including religious division throughout the kingdom. Elizabeth was described as “a most worthy protectress of all true religion and learning, a most noble defender of all God-willed people, and a noble conqueror” (Doran, 2003 ). This quote means that many thought Elizabeth was a wonderful person and leader… at the heart of the paper… property arrangements and laws of succession to the crown,” (Doran, 2003). Women were not expected to maintain any kind of independent authority, especially when male relatives were involved. Before Elizabeth, Mary Tudor's reign had been marked by crop failure and military humiliation to have a new queen in England in 1558. During the reign of the queen Elizabeth I, political issues caused many problems for her, as well as the rest of the rulers before her. Some of these issues included religion, succession, and international affairs. Elizabeth certainly had her own way of leading the kingdom. she used the same guidelines to govern as monarchs who came before her. The main achievement of Queen Elizabeth's reign was the acceptance of female rule. She was a courageous leader in England and certainly made a difference.
