Animal Farm and The Taming of the Shrew by George Orwell and William Shakespeare, respectively, both illustrate how an author communicates power through literary works. Both of these classics are based on a fundamental power struggle, while featuring many other topics in subplots. As Thomas De Quincey believed, without the presence of the almighty struggle for power, none of these literary works, nor any others, would have been in existence.
