It also has an unpleasant odor. To fully determine whether or not this is a problem, I conducted a survey of 10 local residents, business owners, and visitors. I also did some research in local newspapers which reported that the lake contained sewage, urine and waste. They report that it contains harmful pathogens such as cholera, E-coli, salmonella and hepatitis and produces toxic fumes. Efforts to improve the lake have apparently included reed beds, litter traps and effective microorganisms (EM). The survey below is a blank copy of my survey. LAKE BRUMA - QUESTIONNAIRE... Please help us assess the environmental damage in Lake Bruma by anonymously completing this questionnaire.1. Are you a visitor, resident or business owner here in Bruma Lake?Visitor Resident Business Owner Other2. Do you think Lake Bruma is an environmental problem? Yes No3. To your knowledge, how long has this problem been occurring? Never  1 year 2 years 3 years 4 years 5 or more years4. Do you think anything has/has been done to resolve the problem? Yes No If “yes” specify:…………………………………………………………………… ……………………………… half of the sheet ……think that the Jukskei River feeding this dam only gets dirtier when it reaches the residents of the overpopulated informal settlement of Alexandra, who are also forced to use it as a source of water for drinking, washing and ablutions. This causes cholera epidemics and reduces the quality of life. The lake needs to be repaired. There are many people with solutions and many jobs in need in the area. A cleanup would create jobs, educate local people and benefit struggling small businesses. Lake Bruma has the potential to be a beautiful area where biodiversity can spread, businesses can start and communities thrive. A traditional African saying goes: "We do not inherit the Earth from our ancestors, we borrow it from our children." 4BIBLIOGRAPHYHTTP://WWW.FOOTPRINT.CO.ZA/BRAAMFONTEIN.HTMPLAGIARISM REPORTSPECIAL THANKS
