The Benefits of Gardening Horticulture is the ancient practice of gardening. There are three types of beneficial gardening practices such as therapeutic horticulture, therapeutic horticulture and social or community horticulture. These three ways bring many benefits such as improving cognitive abilities, motivation, reducing anxiety and stress and many other benefits. Through this landmark project, my colleague Mayra and I want to create a relaxing environment and want to engage in social interaction with patients and anyone who wants to garden. Another goal Mayra and I have is for patients to develop life skills such as patience, time management, resilience, stress and anxiety management, etc. On our first visit to the TIRR Memorial Hermann, we discovered a small, slightly hidden garden on the other side of the building. This creative process is not as free and unstructured as you might think. In order for creativity to occur and produce results, there must be structure. Through the creative process, we develop an identity. Gardening allows people to be themselves. The way a garden is laid out can say a lot about a person. Another benefit of gardening would be a healthier lifestyle. This is especially true for people who grow their own fruit and vegetables. Who wouldn't want to eat their fruit
