Question 1: Introduction (objectives and problem): The topic of this research study is “Impact of HIV/AIDS Stigma in the Workplace South African. “ This falls under a business management discipline in the financial management degree course I am currently taking and one of the key areas of focus within business management is workplace challenges. I believe the stigma of HIV/AIDS is a challenge faced regularly in the South African workplace. The purpose of this research analysis is to gain insight and a deeper understanding of what the workplace stigma is towards HIV/AIDS in the workplace. perspective of a South African company with specific reference to how it can affect the workplace. In South African politics, whose history is full of social discrimination, racism and discriminated beliefs, “A stigma is a deeply discrediting attribute that diminishes a person. to someone who is somehow tainted and can therefore be ridiculed.” - (molefe, 2009) The research issue addressed is that HIV/AIDS stigmas in the South African workplace play a very important role in how individuals coming from different cultural, religious and social backgrounds interact and work together in an organization. Often stigma regarding employees infected with HIV/AIDS plays a negative role in the interaction between colleagues and employees and therefore this will affect the cohesion of the organization. Resolving and/or preventing stigma related to HIV/AIDS among colleagues will be of great importance to the company. The objective of the proposed review/study is to evaluate employees' perceptions of HIV/AIDS-related stigma and discrimination, including their attitudes and behavior towards colleagues presumed to be HIV-positive.
