1.0 IntroductionOrganizations have shifted their focus from simply maximizing production to minimizing waste of energy and materials. Organizations had realized the importance of the natural environment and had since become interested in environmental management. At the same time, human resource management (HRM) plays a vital role in influencing the organization, in terms of culture and employees. Therefore, to adapt these environmental practices within the organization, human resources should come into play, ensuring that theories develop into actual practices. 2.0 Human Resource Management Human resource management (HRM) is a function in an organization that manages the use of human beings as a resource. The Human Resources department is responsible for all people-related affairs, similar to the finance department which manages the company's finances. HRM plans for employees on issues such as recruitment, training, compensation, welfare, performance management, career development and employee relations. Basically, the HR department shapes the values and culture of the organization, to enable organizational changes or developments. 2.1 Importance of Human Resource Management Employees are the greatest asset to an organization; and therefore investments in human resources should not be neglected. Human resource management involves planning practices and processes, which shapes the culture and values of the organization. With proper planning, values can collapse leading to unwanted employee behavior. This would significantly harm the organization undergoing change or development. 2.2 Organizational change The stages of a change, as Lewin's change model suggests, should begin with unfreezing. To get unstuck, the human resources department must be ... halfway ... the result of planning and decision-making processes. This will largely depend on the capabilities of the HR department. HR personnel will be the executors of green decisions, the leaders of green behaviors. HR leaders must be able to exercise control to enable change to occur. The most important practice is self-management. To achieve organizational EM, every employee and stakeholder should have a discipline on green behaviors. Employees should also practice and transmit positive green movements in their personal lives. This will improve emerging markets to a whole new level, to change employees' personal values and attitudes towards emerging markets. The human resources manager can take a first step by making resources available to employees. Resources can be both intangible and tangible, such as the provision of psychological support and the availability of physical resources.
