Parents are rated as having a high level of education and a low level of structure. They do not expect certain rules and rarely discipline their children. Permissive parents are easily manipulated, and as a result, children are given total freedom without repercussions. These parents offer their children unconditional love. The byproduct of this parenting style is a demanding and difficult child, as well as someone who lacks empathy and kindness towards others (Wentzel & Russell, 2009). They gravitate to being more followers than leaders and are often considered spoiled. It would be optimal to use this form of parenting style only when your child is an adult living alone. They no longer need the rules set by their parents, but they still want your love.
