Communication is the process of sharing meaning by transmitting messages through media, such as words and behaviors. This communication can be verbal using the sound of words, but it can also be non-verbal communication which is behavior without words, although it is accompanied by words. It is very important that the sender conveys the message so that it is understood, clear and interpreted correctly by the recipient, but this process can have difficulties in communicating the intended meaning, this is called noise. The main cause of noise is for reasons that both the sender and the recipient have, both have a unique and personal way of communicating and expressing themselves and their behaviors. This depends on the culture, religion, beliefs and language that each person had. For this reason it is not possible to interpret culture and communication individually. Both are directly related, so there is the term called "Intercultural Communication", which means when a member of one culture communicates with a member of another culture. Relating the above explanation to the case study, Elizabeth Moreno works in Global Pharmaceutical Company (GPC), where it has subsidiaries in much of the world. In the case of the French branch, it is essential to organize meetings in person because the French manager is superstitious about meetings by telephone or other means of communication. This is why GPC often sends its managers and scientists to France, on this occasion Elizabeth takes on the task. There are various challenges for Elizabeth in this assignment, since she only took a three-hour course at her company's human resources management department, she is not fluent in F...... middle of paper.... ..action on how well the other person will behave, then this will avoid any disrespect between them. It is life essential to learn about the beliefs and customs of another culture when communicating with someone from that culture to better understand and overcome some of the barriers that may occur to effecting this communication effectively. We live in a world where people are multi-ethnic, multicultural and multilingual, it is therefore essential to understand other cultures in order to communicate effectively with the other person of a different culture and create a satisfying environment in which both parties can intervene, without losing everyone's identity or universal beliefs. It is important for Elizabeth to be confident and knowledgeable before saying something that may offend the other person about their culture or the way the other person behaves.
