Marijuana is a substance consumed by many individuals. It is described as dried leaves and flowers of the hemp plant that are smoked as a drug. Many people use this drug for many purposes, some might be for a good cause and some might be harmful. I believe Canada should not legalize marijuana while maintaining its current status. I have 3 points to explain why I am against legalizing marijuana. By legalizing marijuana in Canada, the crime rate may increase. If this drug were legalized, it could cause serious violence through the distribution of marijuana. For example, it can definitely increase the number of break-ins and robberies because people's eyes will be focused specifically on marijuana. Furthermore, dealers will sell the marijuana at a different price, and therefore the distribution will be very high due to access through friends and strangers. Minors will be able to find ways to get their hands on marijuana, which has a detrimental impact on our society. It can be abused due to its availability.
