Drugs are usually trafficked into clubs as the demand for such products is generally high. Since many clubs prefer EDM, a connection has been established between drug use and this type of music. The use of illicit drugs such as ketamine is rampant in clubs that play EDM (Kotarba 46). Drug abuse has been associated with deviant behavior among youth. As for the students, the clubs have not only dragged young people into drug abuse, but have also diverted their limited resources towards drug abuse. Young older workers find it difficult to manage their income as most of their income is diverted towards drug and alcohol abuse. Studies show that young people who frequently visit clubs often face acute depression compared to those who rarely frequent them. The same research has associated drug abuse with severe memory loss, which affects the productivity of those who use it. Additionally, club attendees who take drugs and drink alcohol excessively report high cases of illnesses due to dehydration. Therefore, it is necessary to address the problem of drug abuse in clubs by first identifying the specific music associated with illegal drugs. Therefore, it is necessary to identify the connection between EDM and drug abuse to suggest a possible solution to the drug menace in clubs and venues.
