King Tutankhamun became king when he was only eight or nine years old. Of course, becoming king at such a young age, most of Tutankhamun's decisions were made by older figures. One of these figures was believed to be Horemheb, an army commander. Unfortunately, King Tutankhamun met him very early at the age of nineteen. Until recently it was believed that Tutankhamun was killed by a fatal blow to the head. However we now know that the dent on the side of his head that led them to believe he was murdered was created during the burial ceremony or removal of King Tutankhamun when his tomb was found on November 4, 1922.
