The Renaissance was a time of change that began in Italy and lasted between 1485 and 1625. Inventions were common and land discoveries were successful. Literacy, art and drama became an important aspect during the Elizabethan age. Religious debates were also frequent, but with the right leaders they were managed. The transformation of England began in terms of innovations, fashion, and leaders during the Renaissance period. Weapons, advanced technologies and medicines became a massive development during the Renaissance. Armor provided protection to the body. Periodically, armor was made of leather. Whether made of metal or leather, the armor never really succeeded and was eventually used for decoration. However, gunpowder became convenient as it was refined by Europeans to use weapons such as the cannon or musket. Incidentally, another convenient invention was the telescope. Galileo's invention confirmed Copernicus' theory that the Earth was not the center of the universe. However, Galileo was not the only inventor praised. Johann Gutenberg's printing press was a huge phenomenon during the Renaissance. Gutenberg succeeded in printing the first book using his method, the Gutenberg Bible. Another admired individual was Edward Jenner who discovered that a cowpox vaccination could prevent smallpox epidemics. Smallpox was a feared disease that could easily wipe out a race and even a country. With Jenner's discovery, the fear of smallpox was reduced. Another medical breakthrough, discovered by Paracelsus, was laudanum, a type of painkiller. On the one hand, people's daily lives changed not only in innovations, but in terms of fashion, entertainment and education. Thanks to the many influential leaders of the Renaissance, England was able to prosper greatly. The English Renaissance advanced England into the modern world. Technology progressed with the invention of Gutenberg's printing press. Diseases improved with the right vaccinations. Even literature such as Shakespeare's poetry is still admired. With the Renaissance, writers began to write in the vernacular, thus sparking interest in literature. With appropriate leaders like Elizabeth, England soon became a European power. Martin Luther paved the way for the Protestant Reformation to take place throughout almost all of Europe. All of these elements of the English Renaissance influenced the world as a whole.
