Topic > Leadership challenges and strategies in a post-GFC world

Businesses today face many challenges, especially in a post-GFC world. To sustain and survive during this period, there have been many challenges that corporate leadership must face. In addition to this, business leaders also face many challenges in managing the effects of the global financial crisis. In response to this finding, many organizations have used innovative leadership approaches. The intention of this discussion is to discuss the above mentioned. First, there are many business leadership challenges and suitable solutions that could be applied in the post-GFC world. Globalization is the first to be involved. According to Voegtlin, Patzer, and Scherer (2012), the negative side effects of globalization lead to a corrosion of corporate legitimacy, a loss of public trust in directors and partnerships, and a deterioration of social capital. To solve this problem, CSR has become a method motivated on the organizational program that implements companies' conflict to maintain legitimacy as a necessary resource of corporate conduct (Palazzo, Scherer, & Suchman, cited in Voegtlin, Patzer, & Scherer, 2012, p. 3 ). It is absolutely necessary to state that management training is the second to participate in the crisis. It is necessary for MBA students to develop greater personal attention, interpersonal skills and teamwork skills. Furthermore, Datar, Galvin, and Curlen (cited in Waddock and Lozeno, 2013, p. 266) also mention that better attention to organizational corporality, more complete realization, critical thinking, and evident interaction are also necessary for MBA students . Managing innovation and creativity within organizations is also caused by the recent global financial crisis, known as the third business leadership challenge… middle of paper… events and activities. On the other hand, the results and impact of the VVP program are bridging the gap between the professional and personal proportions of management and leadership (Waddock and Lozano, 2013, p. 272). As a result, this program develops new attitudes towards personal commitment and brings about professional changes and new commitments. To summarize, both programs have their positives and negatives, but at the same time they are both useful for their customers. In conclusion, leadership challenges and possible strategies in a post-GFC world have become an important part not only for organizations but also for leaders and managers. In this writer's opinion, in response to the global financial crisis, there are many challenges in different areas that business leaders need to address. Many organizations have created some programs that could help leaders overcome this crisis.
