Topic > My worldview and the relationship I desire with God

By taking this course I learned not only to better manage my life, but also my finances and decisions, helping me structure my life around things that really matter understand my vision of the world. This course has led me to think a lot about my life and see how it correlates to a Christian worldview, revealing that I need to put more time and effort into building my relationship with God. In this course I learned that a worldview is composed of a combination of a person's assumptions and beliefs about life and the world around them. I also learned that each person has a unique calling and purpose in their life. “For I know the plans I have for you,” declares the Lord, “plans to prosper you and not to harm you, plans to give you hope and a future, Jeremiah 29:11” (NIV). More specifically, God has a purpose and a plan for each of our lives. I learned from reading the book Courage and Calling that God has given us three callings: a calling to be a Christian, a specific calling unique to each individual, and a calling to be responsible in the present. I've always thought I had only one calling and haven't found it yet, but as expressed in this book, I have two callings to attend to as I await God's revelation about my specific calling. Another thing I learned is that “our self-knowledge and self-awareness happens in community. We come to know ourselves not in isolation from others but as part of the body of Christ” (Smith, 2011, p. 68 ) Before taking this course I thought I needed to spend more time alone to get to know myself better and learn my calling, but this quote says otherwise. . middle of paper....... I still have a lot to learn and experience, but I believe that when I am ready, God will reveal His perfect plan for my life and shake it up like I have never experienced before 'now! This course has helped me think more about my reason for living and how important it is to have something to live for. Works Cited Havel. (1988). Phillips, W. G., Brown, W. E., & Stonestreet, J.
