There have been many great leaders in the past. Alexander the Great, Cleopatra, and even Caesar encountered difficulties in their rise to the top. Genghis Khan might have been the most interesting and important of all. To prove that Khan was the best ruler, we must go back to the beginning of his life. We need to consider issues such as; his struggle for power and how his childhood would later influence his rule, his military and personal successes, and ultimately his final conquests. Genghis was initially born as Temujin in the late 1600s. He learned early from his father to be a great leader and a formidable fighter. In 1206, an assembly of Mongol leaders renamed him Genghis Khan, this meant invincible prince. This was a bold move for the group. They obviously saw important leadership qualities in Genghis that others failed to see. When Genghis was little, his father, the tribal chief, poisoned him, leaving him and his mother behind.
