The art or practice of communicating news through photographs and journalism in which photographs are the predominant element is called photojournalism. It is the process of illustrating a news story through photography. Photojournalism is a step beyond an individual's thoughts or mental inspirations; it's deeper than just the image of a dog, a car, or even a Christmas tree this time of year. There is a fundamental history and roots behind photojournalism and each photo could mean many different things to different people. There might be an important meaning behind an image to one person, but it could mean something completely different to someone else looking at the image at the exact same time. Photojournalism has impacted many people and influenced and motivated them to strive for success. Photojournalism can be seen in a small role, such as an entire novel with an image without words to describe it, or it could be as large as a magazine full of significant images. It can describe a story, a journey, a struggle, a joy or even a life. Photojournalism can be defined as many things, so the important and key question is; What does photojournalism mean to you? Something extraordinary happened in 1925 that changed the way society saw things for the rest of time. This event occurred when the birth of modern photojournalism came to life in Germany. The first step towards this goal was the “Leica”, the first 35 mm camera invented. The invention of this camera was revolutionary for all photographers. Before this camera was invented, photographers and assistants had to carry around a lot of bulky and uncomfortable equipment that would make it difficult to travel to the event that needed to be photographed quickly. After this important I... in the middle of the paper... a parent, an older sibling or a close friend. Some people are influenced by spiritual guidance and others pursue money or celebrity, but we all have an influencing factor that drives us to seek success. Photojournalists are also influenced, both by their surroundings and by nature itself. There are things in life that many times are not easy to understand and that happen in an individual's daily life such as accidents, injuries, illnesses and even deaths. There are times when the answer to a question cannot be found, but in this field there is always room and space for creativity; this is especially true in photojournalism. A picture can put a smile on a face, it can help someone get through difficult times, it can help someone remember their roots, and it can be the deciding factor in a decision someone makes.
