The United States Army, in its current form, is a profession of Arms. To be considered a profession, the organization must have a code of ethics rooted in values, strong trust with its customers and be staffed by industry experts. These experts constantly develop trading for the present and future and maintain the same shared vision of their trading culture. The Army currently has a code of ethics embodied in the Army Values, which provides guidance to the individual and the organization. These values are universal throughout the military, regardless of an individual's personal background or religious morals. Vocational military education schools teach Army ethics, and evaluation reports for leaders affirm these ethics. The Army punishes individuals, especially leaders, who violate this code. The Army administratively punishes Soldiers who do not adhere to this code, and the severity of the punishment increases with rank.
