On the morning of December 7, 1941, America was shocked by what had just happened to its country. And even more shocked by what had happened at Pearl Harbor. Pearl Harbor was being attacked by the Imperial Navy, which was based out of Japan. Before the attacks that occurred on Pearl Harbor, Japan had spoken to the United States of prolonged peace, hope, and prosperity between the United States and Japan. But that dream of peace and prosperity came to an abrupt end on the morning of the attacks on Pearl Harbor. In this essay you will hear accounts from the US Army, the Japanese Army, the medics, and the commander of the US Army and Japan. And they also have a vision of Pearl Harbor. When things started to fall apart for the United States Army, especially the Navy, they had to do what they had to do to protect their citizens and, more importantly, the personnel working in or around Pearl Harbor. I noticed how the military was doing everything it could to repel the Japanese fighters. All you could hear was "BOOM, BOOM BOOM". The sounds of the .50 caliber gunners, the sound of rockets crashing into the USS Arizona, and the destruction in general, were sounds I will never forget. The sights around me, the sight of American soldiers in combat and dead will never leave me. The navy was fighting as hard as it could. From where I was watching the fight, the US shot down a lot of Zero Fighters. But Pearl Harbor was still being completely destroyed. Pearl Harbor personnel had to find several ways to shoot down the Japanese Zeros, but how? They found a way that helped them significantly. Right outside Pearl Harbor there was a navigator… middle of paper… To get a common interest from another country, you should first understand what their strengths are and what they are struggling with. Having a common interest essentially means learning to understand people, but on a much larger scale. When I meet a new friend, for example, you have to get to know him, understand him, see what he likes and what he doesn't like. So keep that relationship ongoing and long-lasting. If two countries could do the same to each other, wouldn't it be just wonderful? I mean, two countries finally getting along with each other would be just amazing. If we thought we would, perhaps the 300,000 lives lost in the Pearl Harbor attacks would never have happened. To those who lost their lives at Pearl Harbor, may you rest in peace. And may your family find peace after the loss of your life. You will never be forgotten.
