Topic > The End Justifies the Means: Wrong is Wrong - 1476

Wrong is WrongSaying that "the ends justify the means" is an invalid statement, those who agree with this statement obviously believe that killing, stealing and cheating doesn't matter as long as it has a good outcome and the goal is achieved. The phrase “the ends justify the means” refers to the morality of an action, which basically means “A good result excuses any mistakes made to achieve it.” (The end justifies the means, the). This topic is among the most controversial topics discussed today. Practicing and preaching the belief that the ends justify the means would be considered immoral. Acts of killing, stealing, and cheating go against the Ten Commandments. Killing is the act of taking someone's life, whether out of spite, revenge or self-defense. Killing goes against the sixth commandment, which states “You shall not kill anyone” (Br-undidge-Fuller 48). Stealing is the act of taking something that doesn't belong to us at all, without ever giving it back. Stealing goes against the eighth commandment; which states “You shall not steal” (Brundidge-Fuller 48). Cheating is the act of presenting someone else's work as your own or copying someone else's work instead of doing things yourself. Betrayal goes against the tenth commandment; which states “You shall not take anything that belongs to your neighbor.” (Brundidge-Fuller 49). Following these commandments demonstrates appreciation of the covenant with God. Since all are made in the image and likeness of God, this means that his actions should be emulated by all. In all decisions, God would make sure that everything He does is acquired by doing things right... middle of paper... precious time, energy, peace of mind and what should have been a normal life, trying to re-establish my credit and my life.” (Written testimony by Michelle Brown). Once the evidence is presented as to why the ends do not justify the means, it is clear that this statement is invalid and devoid of moral value to anyone who holds it. Anyone who lives by this belief is obviously self-centered and ignores the possible victims involved in the situation. The fact that the end does not justify the mean is not something that should be argued about because human beings are born with a conscience and this helps distinguish right from wrong. Considering that humans are aware of their actions, there are no exceptions for such heinous actions. Someone who is capable of stealing, killing, and cheating lacks moral standards.
