Since the 1970s Urban Outfitters INC. produces a wide selection of clothing brands for the younger generation. Urban Outfitters INC. includes Free People, BHLDN, Anthropologie, Terrain and Urban Outfitters. The beginning of Urban Outfitters INC. started in Philadelphia for college students, their affordable, fun-loving clothes attracted students living on a college budget. He is known for his "hipster" and "free-thinking" clothing that would appeal to younger generations. However nowadays it seems that the original purpose of Urban Outfitters INC. has been lost. Clothing prices at Urban Outfitters and sister stores have risen dramatically to the point where college students can barely afford it. In recent years Urban Outfitters INC. has run into multiple problems affecting its stores' sales. For example, being reprimanded for their projects, being sued for stolen projects, and having a president who supports anti-gay politicians. Considering all the negative aspects of Urban Outfitters and the loss of their traditional purpose, Americans should not support Urban Outfitters Inc. Hayne created the small shop in Philadelphia that has become an iconic urban hipster shop. Being a college hippie himself, Hayne understood the need to be free at a young age, his shop appeals to the younger generations because of the independent mind of a young adult. Young minds are very liberal and open to numerous ideas, so it was not ironic that the founder of Urban Outfitters supported Rick Santorum an anti-gay activist. Hayne donated approximately $13,000 to support Santorum's policy... middle of paper... in March, when the summer months arrived these bed bugs were in the employee break room. Many employees complained of itching while working. To get the press off their hands, Urban Outfitters released a statement: “We employ a third-party exterminator to test for bed bugs at all of our locations in Manhattan, Queens and Brooklyn on a monthly basis. We have had our 14th St. and 6th Ave. locations inspected by certified exterminators and bedbug control dogs every month since September 2010 and twice monthly since March of this year. (2012) In July, two isolated bed bug-related incidents occurred in employee-only areas of this store, so we immediately implemented the treatment protocol recommended to us by our third-party exterminator. “However one source said these exterminators came in some months and not others (Baker).
