History of Microsoft In terms of progress, from the uncivilized era of the Stone Age to the civilized world of the 21st century, the human mind has played a vital role in society throughout the centuries. The human mind has gathered an ocean of knowledge and created numerous devices to make the world a better and comfortable place for the entire human race. Huge effort and thought has been put into inventing and creating new products for the leisure of daily life. Products such as cars, agricultural equipment, household appliances and many electronic products have made life much easier since the last century. However, technology has made a significant difference to lifestyle in the last 2-3 decades. The small typewriters or punch cards that were common in the 1970s no longer exist today. Any doctor or management office hardly uses stacks of files to keep track of records. Most of the credit goes to a man who envisioned “A Computer in Every Home.” His vision revolutionized the electronics industry. Microsoft not only built computers, but the company built a way of life. Two Harvard undergraduates, Bill Gates and Paul Allen in Albuquerque, New Mexico, in 1975, invented Microsoft. They both founded a company that would build a programming language. The company was founded by two geniuses who wrote an interpreter for another company. The name Microsoft was given by Allen. It is made up of two names, Microcomputer and Software. The company moved to Washington State to accommodate the work as it was becoming increasingly difficult to find qualified employees. Microsoft's main product was the language called BASIC. In June 1980, IBM and Microsoft teamed up for a project called “Chess.” At this time, the company's focus has shifted towards creating a system that can work with... half the paper... diaries are also found all over the world. Section 7: Conclusion Technology changes rapidly every day and the computer industry is a tough pacesetter in technology. There is so much competition in the world and to compete with everyone you have to stay one step ahead of the rest. Microsoft has demonstrated how committed it is to the evolution of computer programs by always being one step ahead of the rest. Microsoft's greatest power is to create superlative computer software compared to others. Today Microsoft is one of the most successful companies not in the United States but in the world. The company's success can be described in one of Bill Gates' quotes: “I think it's fair to say that personal computers have become the most powerful tool we've ever created. They are communication tools, they are creativity tools and they can be shaped by those who use them.”
