IntroductionThe two most polarizing and influential religious figures of the time, Jesus Christ and Muhammad, were considered two people who, at two different times, attempted to unite messages that would change the landscape of world spirituality and gain following from the masses. Timothy George shows that the two are responsible for the creation of two of the three historical religions in the world, both being descendants of the third, Judaism, in his article in Christianity Today. While both may have experienced a parallel path for some parts and shared a similar message on some issues, they severely disagreed on their teachings on others and encountered different events throughout their lives, especially towards the end. From their lives, to their actions and their teachings, this article will examine the similarities and differences between the two great "masters" of the religious movements of the Anno Domini age, and how truly contrasting the two were at the heart of their leadership and their values. Jesus Christ: The Savior of Christianity Life From birth, Jesus of Nazareth was known to be special, something the world had never seen. The legendary birth, his mother being the Virgin Mary, that night in the manger in Bethlehem introduced to the world the man who would become known as the Messiah, the one who, according to Christianity, would save the world and offer it eternal life. Jesus knew of his calling and his holy purpose on Earth. Although Mary and her husband Joseph, a carpenter, raised Jesus as an infant, not much is known about Jesus' early life through the Scriptures, nor is it known through historical evidence. It is not…a ministry…middle of the road, without seeing the existing and progressive widespread adoption of Christianity during his time on Earth; Muhammad lived a longer life and died with the satisfaction of having seen the acceptance of Islam spread to many previously unreached areas. From their lives, to their actions, to their teachings, this contribution has examined similarities and differences in the two great "masters" of the religious movements of the Anno Domini age, showing how truly contrasting the two were at the center of their leadership and their values. Ultimately, one was the Son of God, sent here to set the perfect example for humanity and offer a chance at eternal life, through Him. The other? He, Muhammad, was simply a simple human being, full of sin, with dreams of greatness and the ability to lead a crowd. All similarities pale in comparison to such a striking difference.
