A cuisine cannot be defined simply as a particular group of foods associated with a geographic location. To understand a cuisine there must be the same understanding of the culture to which it belongs. A culture, such as the Italian population, manipulates the presentation and substances of a cuisine into something representative of that culture. This makes cooking much more than just a dish; a cuisine includes the history, both of those who make the dish and of the ingredients and cooking styles that make up the final product. A cuisine contains pride of nationality and personality. Likewise, culture is more than a geographic location; it is a way of life and a respect for a group of beliefs and traditions. To understand this relationship between culture and cuisine it is necessary to address some information; information such as the demographics surrounding a culture, the specific effect that Italian culture has on Italian food, as well as the ingredients and culinary skills applied in Italian cuisine. The consequences of Italian cuisine will also be identified, both nutritional value and health damage, and how these effects may continue into the future. Cooking can be divided into two phases: pre-swallowing and post-swallowing (Crotty 1995). Pre-swallowing is based on the social aspects of cooking (Gallegos 2011) such as who cooks and why people eat the food they eat. Post-swallowing concerns the effects that the food has once eaten; Post-swallowing also addresses the nutritional and health impacts that food has on consumers. When deconstructing a kitchen it becomes clear that demographic information plays an important role in the pre-swallowing phase. Gender, age, location, religion and government influence all contribute to the paper continuing to increase. A symptom of obesity, cardiovascular diseases remain the main cause of death in Italy with 16% (World Health Organization 2006), followed by cerebrovascular diseases, better known as stroke, with 14%. Both of these diseases are caused by diet, particularly a diet high in cholesterol, and with Western food chains like McDonalds becoming more and more ingrained in Italian culture, it is reasonable to believe that these causes of death will remain the same in the future, a unless we regress towards local healthy forms. Italian cuisine is taken into consideration. To conclude, Italy is a diverse place both in terms of geographical regions and cultural traditions, it is fitting that it has a diverse cuisine, full of history, religion and, most importantly, the soul of the Italian people. . His mark on world cuisine through innovation and passion has lasted a long time.
