Times have changed, and so has country music. American country music lovers have gone from Loretta Lynn and Waylon Jennings, just two of the many classics, to Carrie Underwood and Luke Bryan, two very attractive country music artists. However, not only the melody of the music has changed, but also the image, the charm and, in general, the kind of icons that the media portrays as these modern music stars. Icons like Lynn and Jennings had identifiable characteristics in their music as well as their appearance that spoke of sweet Southern beauty and rugged sound. While Underwood and Bryan's appeal is much more sexualized now than in the old days. These changes affect how modern singers are marketed to former country music stars, instead of focusing on the talent as it appears now. As media is a major factor in this dilemma between old country and modern country. All former country music artists such as Hank Williams Junior and Senior were not described as "the sexiest man/woman alive" and were not advertised by overly sexualized artists....
