What is water for us? well Water is a natural resource on Earth. Water is also essential for our life, just as water can solve our thirst problem, water can make us survive, water can clean our body, water can recharge our fatigue and l 'water can revitalize our skin. According to a scientific investigation, 70% of our body mass consists of water. Therefore, water is very important for us and should be global. Barkin, author of "The Myriad Faces of the Mexico City water crisis" he says. “Today, many poor communities not only lack regular service, but also lack access to any water supply fit for human consumption.” Today it is difficult for them to get fresh water without having to travel a long way (Barkin). That's why it's really important for us humans to realize what's happening and how we can help each other before it's too late. Using too much water causes future harm to people around the world. According to Coles, author of “The Growing Water Crisis,” “If current water trends and policies worsen, we can expect the situation to get much worse, with total global water consumption 13% higher by 2025 than today. Food prices are expected to almost double and global cereal production in 2025 will be 270 million tonnes less than if a sustainable water use policy were adopted” (Coles). If the food crisis doubles, there could be an economic crisis. Many people can't afford food at the current price, so if they raised it they could starve to death. This could lead to an increase in crime and violence. If we let water consumption increase we won't have enough to save. McCarthy, author of “World Bank Predicts Water Crisis,” says: “Today. one billion people living in developing countries do not have access to safe and clean water. The result is about 10 million... half paper... water, but not all of the water is clean or fresh. Almost all water comes from the oceans and those oceans feed some of the animals we still have around today, but we realized we are running out of fresh water and we don't have a plan to get fresh water again, that's why we need everyone's help to understand what's really going on and that way we won't face bad things like running out of fresh water in the future. Another thing to keep in mind has to do with the companies that own the water because the water should be free and not owned by someone and that way we have to buy the water. Works cited The Cove.
