In an ever-growing technological world, the need for a computer becomes almost a necessity rather than a luxury. With so many options available on the market, it can become complicated and exhausting to know what to look for when purchasing a computer. I would like to include a sentence that shows why it is confusing, as I described in your notes. So you may be wondering how should I go about buying a computer and what should I look for? The components of a computer and understanding how they work are the main determining factors when deciding to make a purchase. Starting with the most important component that affects not only performance but also cost is the video card. The video card is responsible for everything that is displayed and how quickly it can display programs; this is referred to as the FPS or frames per second that your video card can display. With this responsibility, a video card determines whether you want fast, smooth graphics at a higher cost for gaming or a more economical solution when used only for word processing and Internet use. The size measured in megabits (MB) and the memory speed measured in megahertz (Mhz) in your video card will directly affect the cost and quality of the computer you purchase. The processor is the second most important part to consider when buying a computer. . So what exactly does the processor do? The processor is the component that is commonly referred to as the "brain" of the computer and is responsible for processing all information. The value of the processor is determined by how fast it can process the information represented in a gigahertz (GHz) value. Processors also come with multiple cores (like A or B etc.). (This gives the ability...) which gives the ability to process more data during...... half a sheet of paper...... meetings at great distances. However, it is always necessary to check the compatibility of the peripherals with the operating system installed on the computer and with the software for which it will be used. (mention at the beginning of the paragraph what the peripherals are, such as mouse, keyboard, etc. then give examples of usage) The available ports on a computer are important to consider when purchasing a computer. Ports can range from Ethernet for networking, video in/out for editing or recording, USB for connecting any peripherals, and card slots for a multimedia interface. Computers come standard with most of the ports listed above, however you should check these at the time of purchase. The ports will allow upgrades to the computer via PCI ports allowing the addition of cards into ever-expanding areas of the computer such as video processing, networking capabilities and wireless connectivity.
