In a relatively short space of time Adolf Hitler was able to lead a political movement, which at the time had little to no support, and steer it towards extremist ideologies and absolute dictatorship. Germany was transformed into a totalitarian state under Hitler. Ian Kershaw, well known for his historical work with Germany, said in an interview: "Hitler and his followers described his rise as the result of willpower alone, but one can see how he was able to exploit opportunities and circumstances" (Weider History, 2009). Unquestionably, there were several steps towards Hitler's rise to power in 1933; it definitely didn't happen overnight. In 1933 Hitler's transformed German Workers' Party, which was now known as the Nazi Party, was the largest political party in the Reichstag (Historylearningsite, 2014). However, the fact is that one man was able to manipulate and deceive the vast majority of Germany. They allowed him to advance immeasurably radical and outrageous visions that ultimately altered the course of German history. How exactly did he manage to maneuver so freely, seemingly without significant threat from the opposition? Hitler's rise to power was almost instantaneous; the possibility that it is inevitable is absurd. If the political parties and opponents of Nazism had made better decisions, using their authority and influence over Germany more effectively and efficiently, Hitler would not have had power in 1933. Furthermore, some events that emerged from the 1920s until 1933 they damaged Germany so much. that Hitler was able to take advantage of and command situations. Political instability was a major factor in the government's collapse at the hands of Hitler; if the Weimar Republic was strong... middle of paper... their excessive propaganda campaign and Hitler's strength as a leader and influence. In the years leading up to 1933, Hitler and the Nazis were in complete control of the situation. The fall of the Weimar Republic, due to factors that had not previously been prevented, ensured Hitler's rise to power; this part was to some extent inevitable.
